Bred on our farm
A.B Originals
Variegated agave cultivars from our own crosses. You will not find these at any other nursery, because they started on our farm.
How a Cultivar Is Made
We cross two of our best variegated agaves and sow the seed. Most seedlings come out plain green. A few carry stripes or coloured edges, and only the ones that keep that colour as they grow are kept.
A seedling that stays stable gets a name and a record of its parents. From then on, every pup it makes is that cultivar.
Because each plant makes only a few pups a year, A.B Originals are released in small batches. Collectors on the waitlist hear first.
